Sample Answer:
Given are a map of Paris, a blueprint of the Eiffel tower with a projected underground center as well as a small table with basic information concerning the tower.
The map situates the Eiffel tower in relation to a few other Parisian landmarks. Specifically, the tower is located in the eastern part of the map to the north-west of the Ecole Militaire and along the Seine river. Traveling East from the tower we first encounter the Hotel des Invalides and then 2 museums. In the south-east corner there is the Jardin du Luxembourg and in the northern areas are three other French monuments.
Looking at the diagram of the tower, we can see that the tower has 2 viewing platforms separated by 1665 steps. The table in the bottom left hand corner further informs us that the first of these platforms is 57 meters up and that the second is at an altitude of 157 meters. Also, it states that the tower is 324 meters tall and weighs slightly more than 10 000 tonnes.
The cutout of the proposed underground reveals plans for five levels, the first three of which seem to incorporate glass ceilings. In the first basement level visitors would be able to purchase tickets and gain entrance to the tower. The second basement would be used by stores and places to buy meals. The next level underground would be occupied by a movie theater and a museum and the final two underground stories would make room for cars to park. This entire complex would be serviced by two elevator shafts running slightly inwards from the tower foundations.
